Dr Simone Matousek is a highly trained Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon working in Sydney, Australia.

Dr Simone studied medicine at UNSW, graduating with honours. Immediately following this she spent her first resident year working in the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, UK doing plastic surgery as part of her initial surgical training. She was one of the youngest surgeons to be accepted for advanced plastic surgery training and was successful in being accepted on her initial application.

Following advanced plastic surgery training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Matousek completed two further fellowships, one in breast surgery, (Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons/Allergan Breast Fellowship) and the other in facial aesthetic surgery (Mentor International Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, London). She subsequently spent time in the United States with the some of the most experienced fat grafting surgeons in the world to learn the technique of large volume fat grafting to the breast.

Dr Simone Matousek gained a PhD in surgical anatomy on the fascia of the breast and gluteal region, discovering new ligamentous structures in these areas. Her work has been published in leading plastic surgery journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and new anatomy she discovered is quoted any many articles and books.

She was one of the first plastic surgeons in Australia to perform the technique of large volume fat grafting to the breast for reconstruction and cosmetic enhancement. By combining techniques learned directly from world experts, Dr Matousek has developed her own method of three-dimensional fat micrografting and shaping of the breast, combined with precise liposuction with skin tightening to give the best results. This can be used to treat congenital breast abnormalities such as tuberous breast or breast asymmetry and mastectomy reconstruction. Fat grafting can also be a solution for reconstruction of other congenital or post traumatic soft tissue defects, labial rejuvenation and for facial volume loss. Fat grafting can also be used for “brazilian butt lift” in combination with targeted liposuction to reshape the buttocks.

Other areas of specialization are breast augmentation with implants, short scar breast reduction, abdominoplasty and surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the face and neck and skin cancer management.

She regularly attends international Plastic surgical meetings where she has presented her research and to keep up to date with the latest techniques.
